Looks like an ST type bus (it's certainly not an NS as this has an enclosed staircase), on either the 105 or 110 routes. It's not currently clear exactly which types of buses operated on these routes in 1931.

Probably an NS type bus - the 'snout' bonnet and front canopy suggest it is an NS - on either the 105 (which was routed via Heston Road back then), 110 or 120 route. It's not currently clear exactly which types of buses operated on these routes in 1931.

This area of land became the site of the block of flats known as Lampton Court. It was my home until 1968. On the opposite corner of Lampton Avenue, where the new flats are now, was a car showroom and garage. The pub almost directly opposite Lampton Court used to be called 'The Jolly Farmer'.

This 'island' of land was largely derelict during the mid-1950s and included the remains of several of the houses in this image. There were also the remains of a number of air raid shelters. We used it as an adventure playground, as kids did in those days. It was later developed for new housing and included an office block that is now the hotel close to the Lampton Road / Great West Road junction.
