If you look closely, you can see the steps leading down from the top of Wealdstone Bridge to Herga Road. This picture was clearly taken before Pickford's depository was built. Does anyone remember when in caught fire? I think it was about 1957.

I think this building housed the Co-op Hall.

photo taken standing on entrance to masons avenue, looking onto wealdstone bridge, just over the otherside of the bridge was the famous pub railway tavern, where the band the Who first played, behind the photographer was a great cycle shop called Buntings, and a few doors down Sainsburys

The station footbridge was not destroyed in the 1952 double collision. As can be seen, it was very badly damaged but repaired within weeks.

Absolutely right, you can even today see where new sections were rivetted in.

Harrow & Wealdstone Station. Notice a two coach Push/Pull set in the Stanmore Branch Platform on the left. Masons Avenue courves away to the left and the main road to Harrow continues ahead over the bridge.
