Is this a gun turret? Sea defences?

This is a large vessel stuck in a dry channel - is it a good clue?

The large vessel can still be seen on the 1960 aerial photograph, as well as the distinctive creek pattern

I'm afraid that whilst our archaeology records have the wreck, we don't know what it is. Thanks for spending time on this one everyone, we'll update the catalogue and post your new location data here in due course.

the wreck looks rather like a Royal Navy motor gun boat of WW2- it think it is too large to be a motor torpedo boat as these were quite small and very fast, the gun boats did around 20/25 knots compared with the MTBs 40 knots

I agree with Dave Brunt that this is Stoke Creek near, Allhallows looking south. The inlets match with the OS mapping.

Deck-edge 'notches' just forward of wheelhouse suggest that this vessel launched torpedos.
