St Peter's Chapel built by John Cosin who was Bishop of Durham between 1660-72. This was formerly the Great Hall of Auckland Castle. A magnificent building. Inside the chapel is some of Cosin's wonderful woodwork. He is buried here along with other Bishops of Durham. The Castle is now run by a Trust and is open to visitors in the summer months.
