This is the Waring & Gillow (furniture makers) depository building
.
The building remained until quite recently, albeit in a quite dilapidated condition and looking unoccupied. It has now gone and the site has been redeveloped.
It was Waring & Gillow who started the the Alliance Aeroplane Company who had a factory nearby in what was the Acton Aerodrome site. The Alliance company wound up in 1920. |
