Ton Bach Street- my mother was born at No.7 in July 1914- her father (my grandfather) had been seconded there to work at the Iron Works, from South Yorkshire. As a reservist, he was called up at the outbreak of hostilities in August, and by 1915 was dead. It was a grief to her all her life that she never knew him.
