| Collyhurst County Primary School or 'The Tin School' as was its nickname. An original school on this site may have had a tin roof but it was replaced by the school in the photo during the 1930s I think. |

| Site of the Irk Valley train crash (15 August 1953). An electric multiple unit (similar to the one just by this pin), travelling towards us in this view and on the right- hand track, overran signals and collided with a train crossing the junction towards the right. The leading carriage of the EMU crashed through the viaduct parapet and fell into the River Irk, killing the driver and nine passengers. |
