The Triangle. My former mother-in-law had a haberdashery shop, "Susan Jane's", here in the 1960-70s. It is now the dentists.

Two, ten car, rakes of what appear to be former London and South Western railway non-corridor compartment coaches, with lavatories as shown by some white windows (i.e. former mainline stock). One set has recently been repainted, complete with the Southern Railway's signature white roofs. As all the trains through Norbiton would be electric services it is possible that these are reserve sets for such things as race day specials, the long siding to the south of the line being a useful place to keep them. This siding is marked on Joe Brown's London Railway Atlas as a loop, but the image shows a buffer stop at the south (right hand) end.
