A gaff-rigged two masted, sprit sail vessel in the style of a Thames Sailing barge, but designed to be rather more seaworthy for coastal work. The vessel seems to be higher in the water and does not appear to have the characteristic leeboards to be seen on the amidship sides of the flat bottom barges. It probably has a auxiliary engine for such things as manoeuvring into West Bay Harbour.

Looks Scandinavian, possibly Swedish. Appears to be unloading timber.

Could be Norway - asymmetric blue and white edged cross on a red ground.

Or Swedish - same style of cross, yellow on blue ground...

Or Danish - white on red.

Any of these but especially the first two might offer a cargo of sawn timber.

But we can rule out Finland, which has a white ground!

I suggest Norway as the white of the cross looks rather fogged with another colour. How well does blue show on black and white pictures?
