These will be the changing cabins/caravan things (usually horse drawn) to get into your swimming costume.

The cover of Kay & Co's 1928 summer catalogue depicted a very similar view of the promenade and tower from the south. The delightful watercolour depicts holiday crowds on the seafront at Blackpool, with the motto, ‘Thousands of visitors at sea-side resorts wear our suits and costumes’.

The Blackpool Tower, Pier and Pleasure Beach are visible in the distance.

It was most unusual for Kays to use views of anywhere other than their home city of Worcester on their cover, so this summery image is an extra special treat!

You can see a picture of the cover in question on the World of Kays website: http://www.worldofkays.org/website/1676
