Wesleyan Schools

Harvills Hawthorn Wesleyan Chapel. "From 1820 a barn at Harvills Hawthorn was used which had been taken over from the Old Meeting; in 1821 the society numbered 22. A chapel was built at Harvills Hawthorn in 1830, and the barn was used as a Sunday school until 1834 when a new school was opened on the opposite side of the road. A new chapel was built at Harvills Hawthorn in 1850 and the old building was turned into a house for the minister. By c. 1940 numbers had declined and services were held in the Sunday school; the chapel had become a warehouse. The present church in New Street, Hill Top, was opened in 1955."

The Globe public house, New Street, Hill Top, West Bromwich

The Old Crown public house, 62, Harvills Hawthorn, West Bromwich. Was demolished ca. 1960 and the new Spring Cottage (Joey Butlers) was built on the site, the old Spring Cottage (also in Harvills Hawthorn) subsequently being demolished. A "Crown Inn" was listed in H. Hawthorn as early as 1830.

White Swan Inn, 69 Hawkes Lane, Hil Top, West Bromwich. On corner of Hill Street. Closed during WWI and later became a hardware store.
