The original Chalkhill Estate. A picturesque estate comprising mostly detached villas in an early Metroland development. Unfortunately, it lasted for scarcely more than forty years and was replaced in the mid 1960s with an unsightly social housing development.. It was not long before it gained a reputation for criminality and anti-social behaviour. This, in turn, has been recently redeveloped, but the area nevertheless retains its unsavoury reputation.

It would still have been known as Wembley Town Hall at the time.

The building has now been utilised as the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill.
