AEC functioned from 1912 to 1979. It was taken over by Leyland Motors in 1962. The company was a noted manufacturer of buses, particularly double-deckers, but also of lorries

Looking at the other photos in this series, was the AEC site formally the Daimler Motor Company works?

Triggy, AEC traded with Daimler for only a couple of years, at the time of AEC's relocation from Walthamstow, and they went under the name of "Associated Daimler". Went their separate ways again afterwards.
