OS Grid Ref TL 9004 5751 The pillbox lies adjacent to the Bury-St-Edmunds to Long Melford branch line, now disused. See http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/w/welnetham/index.shtml The railway seems to have formed part of one of the Stop Lines as there are other pillboxes to the N and S. Interestingly the field of fire from this pillbox is facing SE apparently covering the A134. |
