Pidgeonwick, Fallows Field. Home of Ellen Terry, the most famous Victorian/Edwardian actress. Her children Edith and Edward Gordon Craig (famous theatre practitioner) were brought up there. Terry’s lover and father of the children Edward William Godson and architect designed the house. It stood until the 1960s. The roads Pidgeonwick and Fallows Field are named after it. Edith Terry is one of the most important people to ave lived in Harpenden.

The 'Red House', built 1896 and later became the Harpenden Memorial Hospital - which function it still serves.

Branch to Hemel Hempstead - this South-facing connection replaced the original North-facing connection (separately marked) in 1888, only a few years after the line opened in 1877.
