An example of the 'one up, one down' housing which is a notable feature of Hebden Bridge. The top two storeys form dwellings accessed on one side from the higher level road, the lower two storeys form other dwellings accessed from the lower level road. Packs a lot of housing into an area on the side of a hill, but the rear rooms in the lower dwelling, backing onto the hillside, have little or no natural light.

Rochdale Canal - the last full transit of a loaded boat was made in 1937, and the canal was officially abandoned in 1952. Fortunately the canal has been restored and can be cruised again.
