Low angle of the sun emphasised by the tree shadow right. This reveals parallel cultivation lines - lazy beds? |

Nothing to go on geographically, so maybe we can jog someone's memory from the tracks? Looks like a horse and two wheeled cart have done a loop in this snowy field, up the right hand side and back down the left. A lot of footsteps following on the outside, suggesting a crowd of possibly 8 people wide. At the turn, the footstep swath narrows as they go on the inside. The cart doesn't appear to stop, and the crowd disperses just above the bottom of the picture. At the risk of adding a slightly romantic narrative, looks like someone's been crossing the field with a pony & trap, only to get waylaid by a bunch of school kids who can't resist a snowball attack. The rider wisely decides to turn round and leave them behind. They try to cut on the inside of the loop but eventually give up and head home. Could be useful to trace the tracks and direction. |
