Interesting that the driver's window is ajar and the passenger is leaning out of the side window to look at the plane. I'd have thought the windows would have been shut for such a dusty job, but perhaps the sight of the plane being low was a novelty.

How farming changed from the 1930s to the late 1940s. We had woken up to the need to produce more of our own food. It would be an interesting study using the collection to spot the differences.... However, I suspect the proportion of pictures of the countryside, as posted in the groups of five on the website, is rather lower than those of urban areas where there is something to photograph! Certainly lower than the proportion of rural land area of the UK.
