Grade 2 listed building - English Heritage Building ID: 410899
A former Augustinian Priory, established in 1156 and dissolved in 1536.
A domestic house, which still exists today, was then built upon the former monastic site.
Remodelled mid C16, altered early C17, extensive additions late C19.
Little survives of the priory. Following the dissolution, a house was built on the location of the western arm of the cloister. This house is also known as Felley Priory. The core of the house dates from the 15th and 16th-centuries and is thought to incorporate some old masonry from the priory. It has, however, been extended and remodeled since the 17th-century
The priory's precinct wall and fishponds survive.
The Garden (the present layout dates from 1976), Nursery and Tea Room are open for a small fee, not on Saturdays or Mondays at all, only a small number of Sundays.
