Torre Abbey was founded in 1196 and from 14?? to 1930 was the home of the Cary family, who being short of money sold it to Torquay council.
It has 2 ghosts, one of a young cannon who was murdered by and older cannon, and of Lady Cary, whose ghost is seen roaming the grounds on still nights
It reopens to the public in the summer of 2013
