                            the 19th century lower toll house for Tweedmouth ,  The strategic  Great North road from London, Newcastle, to Edinburgh passed through here and across the tweed Bridge. Its importance was 'replaced' by the coming of the railway and the Royal Border viaduct.  in 21st century it is a chinese food  takeaway, but still standing!
