' 67 Eastgate was where I was born in 1954. It was a shop run by my father and sold a variety of things including toys, maggots (for fishing) and accumulators which could be recharged. Rechargeables are not new, accumulators were wet batteries that people used to use to drive their radios and early electrical items. We were rehoused to Eastern Avenue, Dogsthorpe in 1960 when the area was demolished for slum clearance. '
