Grove Park tram termius. In 1914 the tram tracks reached out as far as Catford South End. With extensive housing development during the 1920's the tracks were extended and arrived at Valeswood Road in 1926. Another 2 years were to pass before they finally arrived at Grove Park in November 1928. The routes that served here were the 54 to Victoria and the 74 to Blackfriars, supplemented by rush hours only route 52 to The City [Southwark]. After 24 years the trams were to disappear from the streets under stage 6 of Operation Tramaway, the last ones running on the 5th January 1952, to be replaced by diesel buses.
