Originally the Headquarters of the BIRMINGHAM MUNICIPAL BANK, changed name and status when it joined the WALSALL & WEST MIDLANDS TRUSTEE SAVINGS BANK CONSORTIUM in 1974. All the consortia joined together nationally. The ownership was still disputed when the Government floated it on the London Stock Exchange as part of its privatisation programme. LLOYD'S BANK successfully acquired it becoming LLOYDS TSB BANK. This has since been split back into the two original separate entities. This branch was closed when LLOYDS TSB moved their HQ to the CENTRAL POST OFFICE building in VICTORIA SQUARE, the building having been saved from demolition. The BROAD STREET building is still standing. and hopefully will continue do so,
