' Leman Street station, Leman Street Station was completed in March 1873 but a Board of Trade inspector refused to sanction the opening of the station on safety grounds until a number of changes had been made including widening of the up platform. After another inspection in January 1875 a further list of modifications were required including the lengthening of the down platform. Once these changes had been carried out that station finally passed a Board of Trade inspection and opened on 1st June 1877. Leman Street Station finally closed on 7th July 1941. '
