' The lift bridge taking the railway line between Deptford and Greenwich over Deptford Creek (the tidal part of the River Ravensbourne). But this particular bridge took some opening as the rails actually had to be removed on rollers to clear the bridge deck. It was replaced in 1963 with an electrically operated lift bridge. '
