' North Mersey Branch Junction. The railway line curving to the south connects to the Southport line and was used by electric trains from Aintree to Liverpool Exchange until 1951 This line still exists to Aintree only, but singled, and is in a very poor condition. There were possibilities that a Merseyrail service would be reinstated to Aintree serving the Giro Centre close to the old Ford station, but no further news on this happening. '
