RAF Peterborough. Operational from 1932 to 1964. In World War II it was used as a training base for pilots from Commonwealth and other allied countries. A housing estate was built on the site in the 1970s

Housing Estate building work started in the 1960's and it was all built by 1970. It is called Westwood - enter at your own risk!

The Baker Perkins combine ran the Westwood Works; the company had relocated from London in 1903. The factory functioned for almost a hundred years. HM Prison Peterborough was established on the site in 2005
