This company played an important part during WW2 with the building of artillery weapons. Back in the 1970s an additional new multi-storey office block was built to the left of the one shown in this photo and a new floor was added to the top of the one in the photo in the 1960s. To the left of the white looking car park to the left of the office block shown, further office buildings were built after 1947, an engineering apprentice school (in the 1950s I think) and an HQ building also in the 1960s or 1970s. I worked for this company on this site for many years. The much changed company moved to new premises elsewhere in the city. These premises were demolished in the early 2000s and a prison and park built on the site.
