This is actually Southampton Pier. The large white building survives and was at this time the home of Royal Southern Yacht Club. The mud flats in the foreground were part of a large reclamation program to extend Southampton Docks and are now Mayflower Park. A splendid viewing point to see the large cruise liners and container ship movements.
