| Ack Ack Batteries were sited around this area for a period in 1944. Also during 1944/45 I remember seeing London buses parked along the narrow roads during daytime.
They were scheduled for morning & evening rush hour duties and by them not returning to their garages in outer London it conserved fuel. |

| Two Brewers Pub, Whitecross Street. Relations of mine ran this pub during the Blitz. I visited several times an remember watching the drays loading up
