There are two different listed buildings called Church of Holy Trinity, Much Wenlock. THIS one is Church of Holy Trinity, Much Wenlock, Wilmore Street, Much Wenlock, Shropshire TF13 6HR (the other building is at TF13 6QE and can be referred to as in Bourton). This church is generally open in daylight hours. This is a Grade 1 listed building, English Heritage Building ID: 254847, A large Norman structure. Chancel, nave and West tower South aisle added late C12. C13 additions. West End of church "re-ordered" internally in recent times. The interior of the church contains a small memorial to William Penny Brookes - the founder of the Modern Olympic Games.

Priory House Grade 1 listed building - English Heritage Building ID: 254767 A private house embodying substantial remains of the priory and adapted as a dwelling at the Dissolution. The north range is the monastic Infirmary Hall. The east range is an important late C15 building richly panelled and fenestrated, with internal gallery above and below; at the north end is the Infirmary Chapel with chambers above, and in the angle, is a double spiral staircase leading to the Prior's Lodging, At the south-west angle of the court is a portion of the C13 Prior's Hall.

Priory of St Milburga (Ruins) - 9 Bull Ring, Much Wenlock, Shropshire TF13 6HU



Grade 1 listed property - English Heritage Building ID: 254766

English Heritage site, open to the public for payment, usually daily April-October, weekends in Winter.



Wenlock Priory was founded in the year 680 AD by the King of Mercia, Merewalh, for his daughter Milburga, who served as abbess until her death in 722.
