Dear slowcoach and David Wilson, That's great; I've reviewed your comments and thanks to your help we can update the catalogue. I have checked with OS mapping and Google Earth and the topography is an excellent match for Loch Garry. The give-away is the cluster of islands at the East end of the loch, giving the appearance of an isthmus in this image due to the angle at which the photograph was taken. Is that the profile of Gairich in the middle distance in centre shot beyond the loch? The revised record will appear here in due course. Correction! I've just seen the comments for SAW003590, and what I thought were islands are in fact a small peninsular. The islands only appeared after the level of the loch was raised. |

I think this must be Loch Garry, with the end of Loch Lundie in the bottom right corner. The outflow from Loch Lundie (Aldernaig Burn)is just visible. The aircraft would have been north of Invergarry. |
