Lamborne (Lambourn) Place, was built by Henry Hippisley in 1843 on the site of a previous mansion of the Essex family. Hippisley also rebuilt the Lambourn Alms Houses in c.1852. He died in 1896 and after several years of dereliction, the house was demolished in 1938
