Canal fronting the Viyella factory, then in front the stables for the railway horses and alongside, the factory acquired in 1939 of A.H.Garner Limited on Castle Meadow Road. In the foreground the railway yard, bonded warehouse and Wilford Road. All this site is now occupied by the Inland Revenue offices.

Nottingham castle at top of image. Foreground now HMRC site. Main building in photo still intact. Navigation pub on right beside bridge over the Nottingham canal. Trip to Jerusalem pub - white building at back right - alleged oldest pub in England (it isn't).
