Vicarage St at its junction with Huntingdon St. It ran NE & slightly downhill to join Alfred St North. The Mechanics Arms pub (later Pride of Erin) stands on that corner. A little way along Vicarage St, at a gap, the ends of the terraced houses that can be seen are on Church St.

The Golden Fleece pub on corner of Mansfield Rd (in front) and Peel St. The long line of buildings running across the picture at this point follow the line of Mansfield Rd. The road beyond, running at a slight angle to Mansfield Rd, is Huntingdon St.

The Nags Head pub on corner of Mansfield Rd and Frogmore St (which runs between Mansfield Rd & Huntingdon St at this point).

The Arboretum. Western entrance is on Waverley St, eastern entrance is on North Sherwood St. A place where families went for weekend picnics in the good old days.
