Just seen in the shadow, a trolleybus turning at the St John Street "Smithfield" terminus for routes 567, 677, and 679. Operational for 22 years from October 1938 to April 1961 another of the fringe of City termini inherited from the trams. Nearby Aldersgate terminus was surrendered when tram service 77 was converted to trolleybus route 677 and diverted here because no turning point could be found.
