the cherry tree public house coventry rd will go in the 1970s to make way for the land at the rear to be redeveloped and gain access to the commons car park when access to it from the square closes in the late 80s,coventry rd will become a one way traffic off the square but will remain two way traffic to this point to allow access to the commons |

SYMINGTON CORSET AND FOUNDATION WEAR FACTORY this shows the rear view of the site and its coverage in the town centre 80% of the site was demolished in the 70s only the frontage on adam & eve st and church square survive.the remains of the bell tower on the north building was saved and moved to welland park gardens as a display piece. the district council moved into the building after major refurbishment to the building a short film from 1928 shows the woman working at their machines in the factory |

Old Grammar School, Church Square a refurbishment restoration program finished in late 2014 at a cost of £400,000 overseen by english heritage a short video by Andrew Carpenter shows the ravages of time on the fabric of the building |

this piece of ground was developed into a bus station / lorry park with a building in the center containing a cafe/tearoom demolished on the sainsburys redevelopment of the entire area |

poultry sheds used for holding ducks geese turkeys and any fowl that was going through the market on that particular day before going under the hammer of the auctioneer a short clip of film shows a typical market day with sheep in this clip being moved from the penns to the sales ring this is not market harborough but very similar and shows how the penns looked on a busy market day |

this area will be cleared and made into the commons car park. a bridge will span the welland river off the lower spur road on walcot rd to allow access/exit till the removal of this vehicular exit and a foot bridge put in too take it's place in the late 80s, a new exit/entrance will be located at the site of the old cherry tree pub which will be demolished in the 1970s to develop land to the rear and retail/commercial buildings will be built. |
