This shop on the corner was the last old building to be demolished. It was called 'Patrick Shop'. I took my young son in there in the early 1970s and it was like stepping back to the early 1900s.

This Fabricated metal building was where the Coal Trucks entered to empty their contents onto a conveyor belt, then taken down to fill the waiting coal ships.

The Foster Blackett Lead Works . The white dust would land on the roof of the Hotel nearby called 'The Royal Hotel' , but nicknamed 'The White Lead' because of all the dust. No health and safety in those days. How many people died of lead dust poisoning?
