Communial air raid shelters. Accomodating up to fifty people, these were to provide cover for pedestrians and vehicle passengers. Construction started in March 1940, but they later proved to be highly unpopular as the blast and shock waves from explosions could bring the walls down and the 1 ft thick reinforced concrete roof on top of the occupants.

Lyndhurst Hall -former mission hall that was acquired by St Pancras (latterly Camden) Council in 1963 for community use. Sadly, this fine historic building was demolished in 2006 to make way for additional social housing. Of course, housing is needed desperately, but so are community resources!

It was an engine shed from 1847 to about 1860 but the locomotives in use then out grew it and it was sold.
