Towards the camera this led to the original 1865 Ffestiniog Railway station named "Dinas" (not to be confused with the Dinas station near Caernarfon.) This closed to passengers in 1870, being replaced by the Ffestiniog's "Duffws" station in the middle of town. The original Dinas has long been buried under slate waste.
