Catholic Apostolic Church, Northumberland Street. Built as a Methodist Church, the foundation stone was laid in 1863 and the building opened on 18 October 1863, named the 'Independent Methodist Church'. In 1870 the chapel was sold to the Catholic Apostolic Church, who remained there until 1951 when it was purchased by the Roman Catholic Church and dedicated on 15 October 1951 for the use of Ukranian Catholics. The building was demolished in 1970.

Cavendish Cinema, Nottingham; then (I think) converted for bingo; now still standing as a wholesaler business. This is round the corner from the end of Alfred St Central.

Nottingham Victoria Station (GCR/LNER) closed in the 1960s, now the site of the Victoria Centre shopping centre.

"Commercial Square", the church is the Congregational Chapel, which closed in 1971.

Union Rd, a road full of shops with a few pubs, that ran from Huntingdon St (this end) down to "Commercial Square" where Union Rd, Alfred St Central, Alfred St South, and St Anns Well Rd all came together - a real hive of activity!

Ridding Terrace, off Wellington St. The odd-numbered houses in this terrace backed on to the high wall at the rear of the Gas Board yard, making their backyards rather gloomy on the best of days!

Elm Avenue, leading from Mansfield Rd to Cranmer St and then up to the Reservoir. The stretch from Cranmer St to the Reservoir ran up the side of the Elms primary & Junior School, built in the early 1950s
