refurbished and converted into flats c1989, and remains as flats. Apparently there should have been a spire at the front of the building only someone ran away with the £300 fund!!!

I have fond memories of the smells that used to come from there back in the '50s whenever they were making a fresh batch of jam.

Built on the former course of the Glasgow, Paisley and Johnstone Canal, Canal Station opened on 1 July 1885 by the Glasgow and South Western Railway Co., it closed to passengers on 10 Jan 1983. Due to demand a new 'Halt' type Platform was built on the opposite side of the Road (Causeyside St) and the new Canal Station reopened to traffic on 28 July 1990. See Wiki for more interesting detail http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paisley_Canal_Line
