I knew this as "Rosemount Park" when I played in it as a kid in the 70s/80s. There were access points at the top & bottom of the park, both from Friars' Brae and a private entrance through a gate beside the canal, leading to Dr McLeod's house.

These appear to be two single deck buses in a yard. This is approx where the SMT/Eastern Scottish bus garage was located.

I'd say the trees look a little too leafy for late December.

The Rickle and Cormorant Island in Linlithgow Loch are two artificial islands or Crannogs (RCAHMS Thesaurus: An island, partly or wholly artificial, often formed by dumping timber, earth and stones and revetted with timber piles or a palisade. Built in a loch, wetland or estuary and dating from prehistory to medieval.)
