St Mary's Primary School on Forbes Street in Calton. The main school building was designed by J L Cowan and built between 1911 and 1913. Unusually the school ROOF was used as a playground area by pupils - if you look closely at the photo you can see the children playing on the ground AND the roof, The school closed in 1990 due to falling numbers and need for extensive repairs. The building was demolished soon afterwards.
