Top of the lift shaft giving parcels and passenger access to St Helier station - I can remember going in the lift when my sister Sarah was in her pram and the exitement of going across the boardwalk over the down line from the lift landing onto the platform ramp. This was a very unusual installation on a suburban station installed becuase there were two flights of steps giving access from the ground level booking hall to the line in its deep cutting.

15, Douglas Square where we moved from Peckham Rye around 1960. We then moved to 5 Haig Place in the mid-1960's then 14 Haig Place around 1971. I left home in 1987.

5 Haig Place where I grew up in the mid-1960's - the Haig Homes for disabled ex-servicemen, founded by Field Marshal Douglas Haig shorlty after the first world war.
