In the war my Dad, Eric Brown worked in the Paton Calvert's Factory making cardboard shell cases to dispatch. 1941.He was 15. They worked 12 hour shifts 7.30 am - 7.30 pm. or vice versa and a 60 hour week. Prior to the war Paton Calvert made soap and scouring powder sold in tubes.
