The Drill hall, an architectural jewel, built in 1874, was home to 4th Battalion Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry (C Co.). At the front it has a huge rose window with intricate tracery with a latticed rose window to the rear. It contained an armoury, a reading room and sergeant-instructors quarters.

Grade II listed, see https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1270092 for the details. (Although the listing says it now used as a market, I understand it is now the 'Pheonix' cinema.
