The Hawker Woodcock had equal span wings and and undercarriage directly beneath the fuselage. The aircraft in the photograph do not ,they are probably Hawker Horsleys,a two seater with a widely spaced undercarriage to allow  a torpedo to be accomodated benath the fuselage.  |

Hullo! Thanks for your comments. The original Aerofilms Ltd record for this image simply says "RAF formation", in a set of shots from the 1928 Pageant. Squadrons flying "Woodcock" and "Horsleys" both took part, according to the report in Flight magazine (5 July 1928, pp.524-529). As you say, the undercarriage of these aircraft looks more like the Horsley than the Woodcock - thank you! Yours, Katy Katy Whitaker, Britain from Above Cataloguing Team Leader  |
