I think this was the Stoke plant on what is now Humber Road. In my lifetime it was Chrysler, then Talbot and finally Peugeot cars. It was sadly demolished only fairly recently. At one time Coventry boasted 8 mass produced and 2 luxury car factories. The last car to be built in Coventry was a Peugeot 405 estate, painted grey. I believe it is on display at the Museum of British Road Transport in the city. The road in the foreground would now be Terry Road. |
